In 1847 George Lipscomb in his "The History and Antiquities of the County of Buckingham" listed the following Abbots of Medmenham Abbey:

1256 Roger 1295 Peter 1308 John de Medmenham 1416 Henry 1521 Richard 1536 John Talbot, the last Abbot
